L’Heure Tranquille… when the lions go to drink (V. Hugo)

Programme
« It was the tranquil hour when the lions go to drink » : as in Victor Hugo’s Légende des Siècles, History encounters the future here with the extension of Tours city-centre towards its new district, the « Deux Lions », planned as a mixed neighbourhood that will include housing, a part of the university, tertiary activities, public buildings and parks.
Apsys is proposing a concept which will bring the whole area to life : an open shopping street, running from east to west. The visitor will be welcomed by a monumental gateway, with two translucent facades. He or she will then be invited to follow the covered street, punctuated by numerous resting places, as far as the central square, with its wide choice of restaurants and cafés. L’Heure Tranquille will reinforce the district’s commercial attractiveness, complementing the city-centre offer without competing with it : culture, leisure, multimedia, sport, cinemas, restaurants... will create an area for relaxation and shopping.
